You want some? 21-STONE pet chimp smashes police car windscreen with fists after breaking free from owner's chains

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Rampage: An irate Sueko is captured by the dashboard camera as she leaps on to the bonnet of a police car in Kansas City

A 21 stone pet chimpanzee broke free from its chains and shattered the windscreen of a police car during a rampage through Kansas City.

Female Sueko - known as Sue - escaped from her owner's home and was spotted shoving around bins and wandering around a suburb of the city.

Animal control officers were called and shot the animal with a tranquiliser dart, but she shrugged off the effects and kept going.

Damage: Cracks are visible on the patrol car windscreen after the female chimpanzee smashed it with her fists

The enraged animal then slams a bin into the front of a police car, climbs up on to the bonnet and shatters the windscreen with a powerful blow from her fists before leaping off and sitting by the road.

Eventually Sueko was coaxed back into a cage by her owner and taken home, but city officials have now confiscated her.

Police said she was capable of opening doors and her owner, Mark Archigo, had been cited for having a dangerous animal within city limits.

Kansas City officials said: 'The decision was in the best interest of the community and the animal.'

David Park, director of the Neighbourhood Community Services Department, said the city could confiscate the chimp because of repeated infractions by the owner.

Officials first confiscated Sueko in 1995 and sent her to Kansas City Zoo, but she was returned to her owner after he threatened to sue and promised to keep her outside the city limits.

Mr Park added: 'We have much more history to support the decision.'
